Why talk to a stranger?
I am a psychotherapist and counsellor based in Camberwell, South London, approximately 10 minutes walk from Oval Tube station and not far from Camberwell Green.
In the unique and confidential setting psychotherapy provides – it is possible to have a different kind of conversation.
It could be a very wide range of experiences that lead you to seek therapy:
In a crisis, distressed, experiencing emotional turmoil, struggling with relationships, conflicted or confused, lost direction, stuck in an old pattern, find yourself doing the same thing yet again, though you want to stop. Going through a major life change, struggling to cope?
Times such as these we can benefit from talking to someone who is not involved in our lives.
A life experience or time of life may throw into question how you see yourself and others, your very identity. You may want to work with what makes you the person you are, or you may want to stay closer to the surface and look at a particular concern or issue. At whatever depth, conversations with a therapist can allow you to see things from another perspective and ultimately this can foster change and personal growth as you deepen your understanding of yourself and others.
